is an integral part of BJP Punjab's core committee and finance committee.
Legal Challenges and Allegations
Throughout his career, Arvind Khanna has faced allegations
and investigations related to defense deals. Notably, in 2007, Khanna and his
family faced accusations from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of
influencing a defense deal in favor of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and
receiving kickbacks. However, due to insufficient evidence, the case against
them was eventually dropped.
In 2025, the CBI filed a chargesheet against Khanna,
advocate Gautam Khaitan, and businessman Anup Gupta in connection with the
Embraer aircraft deal. The investigation, ongoing since 2016, is expected to
conclude by November 2025. Khanna has denied any wrongdoing and has not been
convicted in any of these cases.
