Biography of Vishal Satwara: Founder and CEO of Zybra -Entrepreneur
Biography of Vishal Satwara:
A Financial Mind in the Making
Vishal Satwara’s journey began with a solid foundation in finance. He pursued
his studies at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India starting in
2011, gaining deep insights into accounting, taxation, and business finance.
These years gave him the technical know-how and the passion to understand the
gaps and pain points faced by small businesses when managing their finances.
This financial background would become the cornerstone of his future venture.
The Stanford Experience – Designing for Impact
In 2015, Vishal took a significant step by joining Stanford University's Center
for Design Research under the VentureStudio Fellowship Program. There, he
immersed himself in design thinking and venture design processes. This exposure
to global entrepreneurship methodologies helped Vishal see beyond numbers — he
started to think about user experience, technology, and innovation as powerful
tools to solve real-world problems, especially for India’s underserved SMEs.
Birth of Zybra – Solving a Real Problem
While still engaging with Stanford's program, Vishal, alongside Dharmesh
Satwara, founded Zybra in Ahmedabad in June 2015. The idea was simple
but powerful — to simplify accounting for small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
through technology. He saw that most SME owners struggled with financial
management, invoicing, and taxes. Zybra’s vision was to be their digital
partner — to make accounting accessible, mobile, and stress-free.
Building the Product – The Smart Mobile Dashboard
Zybra quickly moved from concept to execution. The company developed a mobile
dashboard that allowed business owners to stay connected with their accountants
in real time. This platform handled everything from invoicing and expense
tracking to GST compliance and receipt management. By offering both Android and
iOS apps, Zybra made it easy for business owners — even those with limited tech
knowledge — to manage finances on the go.

Entering the Fintech Arena
As Zybra began gaining traction, the fintech sector in India was heating up.
Vishal stayed focused on Zybra’s niche — empowering SMEs, a segment often
ignored by big tech players. Despite having over 77 competitors, Zybra stood
out due to its simplicity, direct accountant-user communication, and
mobile-first approach. By 2019, the platform had become a trusted tool for
hundreds of businesses across the country.
Recognition and Funding
Zybra's growth and vision attracted attention from investors. The company
raised $107K in seed funding from AUSF, which helped accelerate product
development and customer outreach. With a current valuation of ₹5.55 crore,
Zybra positioned itself as a rising player in the Indian accounting-tech
ecosystem. Vishal’s leadership and domain expertise played a critical role in
building investor confidence and user trust alike.
A Lean and Focused Team
Even as the company scaled, Vishal chose to keep Zybra lean and agile. With a
dedicated team of 10 members, he ensured that the company stayed close to its
customers and kept improving the user experience. Zybra continued to evolve
with new features, better analytics, and seamless compliance tools — all aimed
at making life easier for small business owners who often wear many hats.
Looking Ahead – Empowering India’s Backbone (Present
& Future)
Today, Vishal Satwara continues to lead Zybra with the same mission he started
with — empowering small and medium businesses with intelligent, easy-to-use
accounting tools. With the digital economy expanding and SMEs forming the
backbone of India's growth, Zybra’s role is more crucial than ever. Vishal’s
journey from a CA student to a Stanford fellow and then a fintech founder
reflects not just a personal success story but also a broader vision: making
entrepreneurship easier and smarter for the everyday Indian business owner.
